School Meals

At St Mary Immaculate Catholic Primary School, we are proud to work with Miquill, our trusted school meal provider, to offer children a variety of healthy and delicious lunches each day.

Parents can choose from a range of meal options, ensuring there is something to suit every taste and dietary need. All meals are ordered quickly and easily through the Swift Kitchen app, which allows families to make their selections in advance. Please note that orders must be placed and processed before 8am each day to guarantee your child’s meal choice.

Natasha’s Law

In October 2021, new food labelling legislation known as Natasha’s Law came into force across England. The law is named after Natasha Ednan-Laperouse, who tragically died following an allergic reaction to a food product that did not have full ingredient labelling.

Natasha’s Law requires all food that is pre-packed for direct sale (PPDS) to include a full ingredients list, with any of the 14 legally recognised allergens clearly emphasised (for example, in bold). This ensures that children, parents and staff are able to make informed and safe choices about food.

At our school, the safety and wellbeing of every child is paramount. We work closely with our catering providers to ensure that all food prepared on site complies fully with Natasha’s Law. Clear allergen information is available, and staff are trained to understand and manage food allergies carefully and responsibly.

If your child has a food allergy or intolerance, please ensure this is clearly communicated to the school office and included in their medical records so that we can put appropriate safeguards in place. We are committed to working in partnership with families to ensure that every child can enjoy school meals safely and confidently.

Free School Meals

At St Mary Immaculate Catholic Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that all children have access to healthy and nutritious meals, including the provision of Free School Meals for those who qualify. The Free School Meals program supports families and enhances the well-being of our students, ensuring they can focus on learning without the worry of food insecurity.

Eligible families are encouraged to apply for Free School Meals, as this not only benefits their child but also helps our school secure additional funding for resources and activities. We invite parents to check their eligibility and participate in this important program to support their child’s educational journey and overall health.
