Our Approach for Managing Behaviour

Our Approach

At St Mary Immaculate Catholic Primary School, relationships and respect are seen as an integral part of the mission and ethos of a Catholic School. In our school community we strive to follow the Christian faith as teachers and pupils. We promote a firm, fair and positive approach to discipline and encourage a shared commitment between children, parents and teachers. We seek to develop capable and competent young people, who can take responsibility for their own future, with respect and care for other people and property. We are mindful of the command of Jesus,

“Love one another as I have loved you.” (John 13:34-5)

At St Mary’s we want our children to experience equality of opportunity within an inclusive and diverse community. Our children should be encouraged to recognise and use the gifts and talents that they have been given by God, knowing that they are each a unique and faith-filled expression of God’s love for us and for our brothers and sisters. As a result they aim high and succeed in their own goals, wrapped in the love and life of Christ and the commitment of all our staff to help each child to reach their potential.
