Starting Reception in September 2027

Why families choose us

St Mary Immaculate is a caring, welcoming school where children are encouraged to be themselves, aim high and make the most of every opportunity. Our size means that children are truly known by the adults around them and families quickly become part of our close-knit community. We are ambitious for every child, nurturing their talents and helping them develop the confidence, knowledge and values they need for the future.

Starting your journey with us

For some of our families, their journey with St Mary Immaculate begins even before Reception. Little Angels Pre-School provides children with a happy, nurturing introduction to learning and helps them grow in confidence and independence. Being part of our wider school community also means children can become familiar with school life as they prepare for that exciting next step into Reception.

Meet our Reception team

Your child’s first year at school should be full of excitement, discovery and happy memories. Our Reception team understand just how important this first step is and work closely with families to make the transition into school as smooth as possible. They create a warm, stimulating environment where children feel secure, develop independence and are excited to come to school each day.

See Reception in action

There is always something happening in Reception! Children learn by exploring, creating, talking, playing and investigating alongside carefully planned adult-led learning. Whether they are sharing a story, discovering something outdoors, creating something wonderful or tackling a new challenge, our children are encouraged to be curious and enthusiastic learners.

What our Parents say

Choosing your child’s first school is a big decision, which is why the experiences of other families can be so valuable. We are proud of the strong relationships we build with our parents and carers and the partnership we create between home and school. Here are some of the things our families say about being part of the St Mary Immaculate community.

“A lovely, welcoming and inclusive school that truly cares about all pupils and staff.”

“The school is like a community! All the children know each other and the staff know the families well.  Wraparound care is an amazing addition to the school day and my children both love to attend!”

Our Catholic school – everyone is welcome

Our Catholic faith is at the heart of St Mary Immaculate and inspires us to recognise the value and dignity of every person. We are proud to welcome children and families from all faiths and none into our school community. Families do not need to be Catholic to choose our school; we ask only that they support our Catholic ethos and our commitment to helping children grow in knowledge, faith, compassion and love for others.

Wraparound care

Busy family life does not always fit neatly around the school day, so our wraparound provision is there to help. Children can enjoy a safe and familiar environment before and after school, spending time with friends and taking part in a range of activities. Parents can have the reassurance of knowing that their child is being cared for within their own school community.

Book a visit

A website can tell you a great deal about a school, but it cannot quite capture what it feels like to walk through the door. We would love you to come and meet us, see our children learning and discover St Mary Immaculate for yourself. We can show you around, answer your questions and help you decide whether our school feels like the right place for your child.

Come and see us — we would be delighted to welcome you.
